近日，国家电影局发布了一份关于《追龙3：唐人街》的申请，并通过了相关部门的审核。这部电影依然是王晶（原名王日祥）的剧本，广东博纳影视公司的备案。

从官方的剧情大纲可以看出，这部电影是以一九六三年纽约唐人街为背景，因为中华商会不肯和意大利帮派合作贩毒，会长的未婚夫陈绍棠就被陷害入狱为结局。7年之后，阿棠回来了，意大利人和唐人街早已有了利益纠葛。突然出现的福州帮趁机将两个帮会一网打尽，而福州帮的头目就是阿棠。

《追龙》于2017年在中国首映，获得了观众的一致好评，总票房超过了五亿七千万，获得了第三十七届香港金像奖的最佳摄影和最佳剪辑。《追龙 II》是梁家辉和古天乐强强合作的续集，在2019年同样创下了3亿的票房记录。
